Maygars Hill Vineyard & Cottage

2003 Shiraz

The worst drought in a 100 years has seen our shiraz produce the best fruit yet. Reduced crop saw precious bunches shepherded through until the relief of picking during the heat of Easter 2003.
Small berries and small bunches reflected intense colour in the fruit and shows as intensely in the glass. Red fruits predominate on the nose. Great mid palate weight.
A combination of American and French oak has integrated well. Firm, balanced tannins, great length and complexity give us the big rich wine that will drink well for ten years. Takes no prisoners. No pretty party frock here
